I'm on a D-2 visa (exchange student) — will participating cause problems at immigration?
No. Compensation for study participation is classified as "other income" (기타소득), not wages from employment, so it is unrelated to the activity-outside-status-of-stay (work) restrictions that apply to international/exchange students.
